There is no question, structured literacy is essential for any and all students at risk for reading difficulties for any reason. As stated in the article: “The majority of
practitioners at all levels have not been prepared in sufficient depth to recognize the early signs of risk, to prevent reading problems, or to teach students with dyslexia and related learning difficulties successfully.”
We have a moral imperative to support all students at risk! This article really drives this message home.
